Terms of Service

Welcome to Ecodrop. These Terms set out the rules for using our app and refill-station network. By using the Service you agree to them, so please take a moment to read through.

1. Acceptance of These Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and Ecodrop Enterprises Pty Ltd ("Ecodrop", "we", "our", or "us") and govern your use of the Ecodrop mobile application, the refill-station network, and any related services we provide (together, the "Service").

By creating an account, signing in, or using the Service in any way, you confirm that you have read, understood, and accepted these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an Ecodrop account and make purchases. If you are between 13 and 18, you may use the Service only with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to be bound by these Terms on your behalf. The Service is not intended for children under 13.

You must also be legally permitted to enter into a contract under the laws of your country of residence.

3. Your Account

You are responsible for the information you provide when registering and for keeping your account credentials confidential. You agree to:

4. Description of the Service

Ecodrop lets you:

The water itself is dispensed by physical refill stations that we operate together with our partners. The App is the digital interface that lets you pay for and manage refills. You acknowledge that station availability, water quality testing, and physical maintenance are governed by the operating standards displayed at each station.

5. Pricing and Payment

All prices are shown in South African Rand (ZAR) and are processed by our payment provider, Paystack. Indicative pricing at the time of writing:

Each refill dispenses 500 ml of water. Prices are subject to change; the price displayed in the App at the time of purchase is the price you pay. Applicable taxes, where charged, are included in the displayed price unless we say otherwise.

By submitting a payment you authorise us, through Paystack, to charge your selected payment method for the displayed amount. Paystack may apply its own terms and fees to certain payment channels.

6. QR Codes and Refills

When you buy a QR code, you receive a digital authorisation linked to your account. QR codes are personal to you and:

You are responsible for keeping your physical bottle or tag clean, in good condition, and used in accordance with any care instructions we provide. Damaged, defaced, or unreadable QR codes may not be accepted at stations.

7. Refunds, Cancellations, and Returns

Digital refills and QR generation fees are pre-paid for an ongoing service and are non-refundable once purchased, except where required by law or where we have made an obvious error (for example, a duplicate charge or a station we never delivered).

Physical products such as bottles can be returned within 7 days of receipt if they are unused and in their original condition, or at any time if defective. To request a refund or return, email us at the address below with your order reference.

Where a refund is approved, we will return the funds through Paystack to the original payment method. Settlement times depend on your bank and are typically 3–10 business days.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules and may report serious violations to the relevant authorities.

9. Intellectual Property

The Ecodrop name, logo, App, station designs, and all related software, content, and trade dress are owned by Ecodrop Enterprises Pty Ltd or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws.

We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App on devices you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial use of the Service. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

You retain ownership of any content you submit to us (such as profile information). You grant us a non-exclusive licence to use that content as needed to operate and improve the Service.

10. Service Availability

We aim to keep the Service running smoothly, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Stations, the App, or third-party services may be unavailable from time to time due to maintenance, network issues, or events beyond our reasonable control.

Where a station is unavailable, you may use any other Ecodrop station with your remaining refills. If a paid refill cannot be delivered at any station and we are unable to remedy the issue, we will refund the affected refills.

11. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

You are responsible for assessing whether the Service is appropriate for your needs. Information provided in the App (such as estimated walk times to stations or station hours) is provided for convenience and may not always be accurate or current.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ecodrop, its officers, directors, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or relating to your use of the Service.

Our total aggregate liability to you for all claims arising out of or relating to the Service in any 12-month period will not exceed the greater of (a) the total amount you paid Ecodrop in that period, and (b) ZAR 1,000.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Ecodrop and its affiliates from any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Service, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

14. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time and may request that we delete your account by emailing us. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if continued provision is no longer commercially feasible.

On termination, sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive (including ownership, disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnification, and governing law) will remain in effect.

15. Changes to the Service or These Terms

We may modify the Service, including features, pricing, and availability, and may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes to the Terms we will notify you in the App or by email and update the effective date above. Your continued use of the Service after the changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Service.

16. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of Zimbabwe, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The courts of Zimbabwe have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Service, except that we may seek injunctive or equitable relief in any court of competent jurisdiction.

Before bringing a claim, you agree to first contact us at the email address below and try in good faith to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days.

17. Miscellaneous

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any additional terms we present to you in the App, are the entire agreement between you and Ecodrop concerning the Service. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to do so later. You may not assign these Terms without our written consent; we may assign them as part of a corporate reorganisation, merger, or sale.
